Forty minutes, and an honest answer at the end of it.

The first conversation is free and is not a pitch. We ask about your last appraisal cycle, your last four exits and what your managers escalate. If we are the wrong studio for the problem, we will say so and name someone better placed.

Before you write

Two things make the first call much more useful. Bring a rough number for how many people left in the last six months and from which teams — not a rate, the actual count. And be ready to say who currently decides a performance rating when two people disagree. If the honest answer is "it depends", that is a fine answer and it tells us a great deal.

We do not send capability decks in response to enquiries. If you want to know what we think before you speak to us, the beliefs page is the argument and the notes are the evidence.

Working here

We hire rarely, and only senior.

Open roles at the moment: a Senior People & Culture Consultant based at the Baner office on a hybrid arrangement, and a Manager Capability Facilitator who would run cohorts for client teams in Kharadi, Hinjewadi and Chakan — working Marathi or Hindi alongside English matters for that one, since much of the shopfloor and mid-management work is not in English.

For the consultant role we look for eight or more years in HR business partnering or organisation development, with at least two years owning a performance cycle end to end, and people who have personally coached line managers through terminations, PIPs and rating disputes rather than designed a framework somebody else delivered. One client at a time. No pyramid and no utilisation target.

Write to careers@humanssociety.com with a note about a piece of people work you would do differently now. A CV alone tells us very little.
